GA4 & GTM Specialist - Mid-Level Digital Analyst

Role Overview

As a Mid-Level Digital Analyst at jpard, you will be the go-to expert for Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Tag Manager (GTM) implementations across our client portfolio. You will own the end-to-end analytics lifecycle — from tagging strategy and implementation to QA, reporting, and client enablement — ensuring our clients have accurate, actionable data to drive their digital strategies.

Key Responsibilities

GA4 Implementation & Configuration

  • Design and implement GA4 measurement strategies aligned with client business objectives, covering web and app properties.
  • Configure GA4 events, conversions, custom dimensions, and metrics to capture the full customer journey.
  • Set up GA4 Ecommerce tracking (GA4 data model), including purchase, checkout, and product interaction events.
  • Build and manage Audiences in GA4 for remarketing and segmentation use cases.
  • Troubleshoot GA4 data discrepancies using DebugView, real-time reports, and data validation techniques.
  • Connect GA4 to BigQuery for raw data exports and support advanced querying and analysis.
  • Advise clients on GA4 consent mode (v2), data retention settings, and privacy-compliant measurement.

Google Tag Manager Implementation

  • Architect and manage GTM container structures for web and server-side deployments.
  • Implement and maintain tags, triggers, and variables for GA4, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight, and other martech tools.
  • Configure and maintain data layer schemas in collaboration with client development teams.
  • Implement HTML/JavaScript custom tags for tracking scenarios not covered by native GTM templates.
  • Perform thorough QA using GTM Preview mode, browser dev tools, and tag auditing tools (e.g. Adswerve datalayer checker, Tag Assistant).
  • Manage GTM workspaces, versioning, and deployment across multiple client environments (dev, staging, production).
  • Implement server-side GTM (sGTM) setups including container hosting, client configuration, and first-party data strategies.

Reporting & Client Consulting

  • Build and maintain client dashboards in Looker Studio, connecting GA4 and other data sources.
  • Produce tailored analytics reports aligned with client KPIs, interpreting data into actionable recommendations.
  • Support clients throughout the full project lifecycle: consulting, implementation, QA, handover, training, and ongoing support.
  • Conduct workshops and training sessions to upskill client teams on GA4 and GTM best practices.
  • Proactively identify measurement gaps and propose improvements to clients’ analytics setups.

We are looking for:

  • 1–3 years of hands-on experience with GA4 and GTM implementations in a client-facing or agency environment.
  • Deep understanding of the GA4 data model (events, parameters, user properties) and how it differs from Universal Analytics.
  • Strong working knowledge of GTM — tags, triggers, variables, data layer, and container management.
  • Solid grasp of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript sufficient to write and debug custom GTM tags and troubleshoot data layer issues.
  • Experience with Looker Studio (Google Data Studio) for dashboard creation and multi-source data blending.
  • Familiarity with GA4 Consent Mode v2, cookie consent frameworks, and privacy-first measurement approaches.
  • Exposure to server-side GTM or BigQuery integration is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Excel for data analysis, including XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, and pivot tables.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills; able to translate data into clear client-ready insights.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously and take ownership of deliverables.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
