Delivery Team Lead

CONTEXT – ROLE SUMMARY

We are looking for a person with experience and expertise in building and leading delivery teams.

This person should lead the delivery team, ensuring best practices are kept through the development processes, propose and design fit for purpose technical solutions for various project needs.

POSITION PROFILE

Technical skills

  • At least 3 years of experience in leading delivery teams
  • Good knowledge of software development methodology & techniques
  • Knowledge and experience with OOP principles (Java) and design patterns
  • Knowledge and experience of REST protocols and API testing
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD system
  • Ability to understand test plans/test cases/testing reports
  • Good understanding of the software development process, at least 2-3 years involvement in the software application development life cycle
  • Ability to understand business cases and system requirements

  • Good organizational skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Fluent in English

Responsibilities

  • Team formation and maintenance
    • Creates an environment that promotes open communication, trust and teamwork, creativity and self-improvement
    • Participates in the induction process for new team members
    • Creates and implements the development plans for direct line reports, promotes personal development
    • Implements the performance management process
    • Ensures a balance between personal and professional life
    • Leads by example, motivates and inspires team members
    • Offer support for the team when really needed (stress filter)
  • Delivery of shippable product increments on time
    • Ensures the project parameters are clarified and fully understood by the team, e.g.:
      • functional and non-functional specifications
  • code and design constraints
  • processes, tools, guidelines, standards to be followed during development process
  • Ensures functional, technical and logistic support is available for the team
  • Monitors progress, identifies risks and tries to remove delivery impediments
  • Escalates issues which cannot be resolved by the team; is the first escalation point for team members
  • Team coordination – keeps the team focused and on track
  • Task assignment when required (by exception)
  • Participates in the delivery process (development)
  • Ensures deliverables meet the expectation for project requirements, cost, schedule and internal standards
  • Strives to apply the jpard delivery methodology
